This weekend flew by, right?!
On Friday, I had a meeting with my advisor about my dissertation, and he gave me a great review! Phew! I was a bit nervous, and I’m glad that’s done. Now I have to start writing a 15 page prospectus and will defend that to a group of professors in a month. Onward and upward!
Right after my meeting, Ron and I went straight to his place–we had his apartment to ourselves this weekend! We spent our Friday and Saturday grilling, baking, and doing errands. In fact, Ron made a traditional Filipino marinade for our grilled meat…And I think I’m going to make him do a guest post on this marinade recipe! It was a definite winner with easy to buy, cheap ingredients. I’ve never tasted a marinade quite like this, too, and I bet you all will love it. Oh, and at Ron’s request, I made my Banana Chocolate Chip granola cookies again…Yum! Love these! He is already asking me to make more.
Ron and I also spent this weekend looking at apartments and stopping at Tj Maxx’s Homegoods, which we love. I might have mentioned this before, but Ron and I are looking for our first rental! We are ridiculously excited. No more lugging clothes back and forth! No more feeling like a visitor! This just seems like the perfect time to move in and have our own space and routine.
Unfortunately though, moving isn’t great for our bank accounts. We have tons of household items to buy: Hand mixer, flour and sugar bins, baking accessories….the list goes on! One new kitchen item though, that was worth every penny, is the Presto Poplite Hot Air popper.
